A little journey down the rabbit hole...
And down the rabbit hole I go.
I have almost finished reading OVERSTORY by Richard Powers - which I recommend. My favorite part of the book is the thread that tells the tale of a wonderful old biologist studing how forests communicate…which led me to purchase the book THE HIDDEN LIFE OF TREES by Peter Wohlleben…which led me to this flicker page put together by The Biodiversity Heritage Library…which you can literally lose a day on. There are thousands of plates of species in every taxonomic classification. Taxonomy in this case meaning ”a branch of science that encompasses the description, identification, nomenclature, and classification of organisms.” (A little nod to A Series Of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket.)
Here are a few of my favorites so far.
